Sage - Privacy Policy

Sage is a desktop Git client for Linux and Windows. This policy explains what Sage does - and does not - do with your data. It is deliberately short, because Sage is deliberately simple.

The short version

Sage does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no tracking of any kind. Everything Sage works with stays on your computer.

What Sage stores on your device

Sage keeps a small amount of information locally so the app is useful between launches:

• Your repository list - the folders you have opened, and any labels you give them.
• Preferences - such as your light/dark theme choice and window layout.

This information is stored only in your user profile on your own machine. It is never uploaded anywhere, and you can remove it at any time by deleting Sage's local application data.

Network activity

Sage itself does not contact Crowned Phoenix LLC or any of our servers.

The only network activity happens when you run a Git operation such as fetch, pull, or push. In those cases Sage runs the git program already installed on your computer, which connects directly to the remote servers you have configured (for example GitHub, GitLab, or your own server). Sage is not a party to that connection, and no data passes through us.

Credentials

Sage does not ask for, store, or manage your passwords, SSH keys, or access tokens. Authentication is handled entirely by your system's own Git and credential tooling (such as Git Credential Manager or your SSH agent), exactly as it would be if you used Git from a terminal.

Children's privacy

Sage is a general-purpose developer tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version at the same location. Because Sage collects no data, we do not have a way to notify you individually - please check back here.
